Background & Philosophy

From a Young age I have been exposed to high level competition. Gaining my Tae Kwon Do Black Belt at the age of 9 and a half, I became the youngest 1st Dan in the UK. Using the learnt skills and passion for competition I fought a number of UK regional fights and trialled for the GB team at a very young age. This was the card held against me and was turned down due to my age. I took this passion for training and placed it into basketball from the age of 13, representing my City with the Plymouth Raiders in the development leagues. I quickly became Captain from Under 16's to the Division 4 Men's. Then, disaster struck when I was training for a US Invitational Basketball Camp where I would showcase my skills on the stateside college recruiter's platform. I was Diagnosed with Leukaemia and undertook an aggressive 3 Year chemotherapy plan. In my final Year of treatment I started to train with premier level players in the Gym and developed a passion for Strength & conditioning.

Studying my Personal Training Certificate allowed me to get in to the field I fell in love with. After building up experience training clients with different fitness focuses such as rehabilitation, rugby, basketball and heart conditions, I stumbled across Crossfit in my research. That was a year ago and now I've competed with CF Plymouth in team competitions finishing 18th out of 90 Teams in 2011. My first individual competition was the UK Invitational Manchester Games, where I Finished 38th out of 100+ Competitors.
My training Philosophy is based around High Intensity Functional Movements and incorporating large compound power movements to produce results. Mobility is key to performance and I strongly believe in programming Self-Maintenance into Programs. The only thing that changes between the Knee Rehab Client and the MMA Fighter is the load. Intensity is individually gauged!
Everyone can achieve, you just need to unlock your potential!
